What is a Powerflush?
Power flushing is a method, as outlined in BS7593:2006 Code of Practice, for treatment of water in domestic hot water central heating systems, used to dislodge and mobilise deposits and corrosion, which has built-up over time in your heating system, generally from lack of maintenance and protection.
Once the corrosion and sludge deposits have been loosened and mobilised, fresh clean water is forced through the heating system, pushing the contaminated water out. During the process, radiators are individually flushed, without removing or disconnecting them from the system, by directing the full output of the pump through each radiator separately, and our double or triple filtration systems.
At the end of the flushing process, the system contains fresh clean water, allowing the system to be reinstated to normal operation .
System flushing is purely a means to allow for a clean and efficient system to operate, it does not remedy faults which have been caused prior to the flush. Such issues will have to be diagnosed once the system has been cleaned.
We highly recommend having a MagnaClean Filter fitted to your system after a power flush, or enquire about having one installed to your existing system to protect against future sludge build-up.
